The law office of David Berkowitz has provided high quality, personalized legal representation to individuals, families and businesses in Lawrence, KS , and surrounding areas for over 40 years. The Berkowitz law firm is committed to providing prompt, high-quality service to it’s clients and is dedicated to helping each client resolve their legal concerns.
Attorney David Berkowitz received his undergraduate degree from Wichita State University in 1964 and his Law Degree with Distinction from the University of Kansas in 1968. He served as the Douglas County Attorney from 1972—1976.
He married his wife, Katherine, in 1980. They had two children, Bill and Jack, both of whom are Eagle Scouts. Jack is attending Coe College where he is a Goldwater Scholar.
David has been extremely active in the community for many years. He is currently President of the Lawrence Jewish Community Center as well as the Treasurer of the Douglas County Democratic Central Committee. He has been active in the local Boy Scouts and served as Communications Chair of the Pelathe district for 7.5 years. He is a past President of the Douglas County Bar Association and has served on the Bench Bar Committee for the Douglas County District Court. He has also served on several committees for the Kansas Bar Association. He is presently Treasurer of the Willow Creek Homeowner’s Association.
In his free time, David enjoys fishing, hunting, golfing and is a member of the Alvamar Country Club.


Kassidie Kramer, assistant to David Berkowitz, is a student at Highland Community College, majoring in Business Administration. She plans to transfer to the University of Kansas in 2012 to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Business. Kassidie enjoys reading and spending time outdoors playing with her two Cocker Spaniels.
